Safety Profiling in Early Discovery

Termination due to drug safety in preclinical or clinical development accounts for some 40% of project termination across the industry.   Attendees at this session will hear leading figures from academia and industry address the development and use of new and emerging in vitro microtitre plate based assay systems predictive of in vivo toxicology.   Experts from the fields of stem cell biology, high content imaging and drug safety will describe the use of such data  to make informed decisions on compounds which have toxicity liability early in the drug discovery paradigm to enable the selection of higher quality clinical candidates.    Presentations will include the use of predictive in silico tools to cluster biological data with compound structure
