Abstract
The World Health Organization defines healthy or active ageing as ‘the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables well-being in older age’. This can be a combination of healthy lifestyle as well as therapeutic intervention to promote healthy ageing in a disease context. The track will focus on therapeutic approaches across a range of age-related diseases including neurodegeneration, inflammation, ophthalmology and muscle function. Therapeutics can include small or large molecule or other genetic modalities such as ASOs. Although the focus will be on therapeutic and biomarker discovery, basic research on mechanisms of ageing will also be of great interest in this track.

Small molecules beyond Rule of 5 – Modalities, Developments and Learnings
TRACK CHAIRS: Jon Large (LifeArc) and Mark Frigerio (Bicycle Tx)
Abstract
The small molecule discovery field is continuing to reach into innovative and enabling new paradigms, both by employing an increasingly diverse arsenal of chemical modalities, and by exploiting technological advances and applications in established fields of study. Among key areas, small molecules which expand beyond Lipinski-type guidelines based on the Rule-of-5 (Ro5) are providing many new approaches to discovery and translational medicinal chemistry. Our expert speakers in this session will highlight the latest research strategies, innovations in molecular design, workflows and lessons learned in aspects of peptide and Protac chemistries and highlight future opportunities for these contemporary modalities in expanded property space.
