Hosting a Festival of Life Science: Insights from ELRIG’s New Chair As seen in BioTechniques
If you’ve ever attended Drug Discovery, you’ll know it’s the kind of event where science and community come together for two days of networking, sharing knowledge and building new foundations for collaborations. But what goes into making it that way? And where is ELRIG headed next?
BioTechniques sat down with Del Trezise, newly appointed Chair of ELRIG, to find out.
Del has been part of the ELRIG community since 2013, starting as an invited speaker before taking on roles as track organiser, Scientific Co-Director of Drug Discovery, and founder of the early career professionals work group. Now, as Chair, he’s thinking bigger.
In the interview, Del talks candidly about what he sees as ELRIG’s next chapter. He shares his ambitions to bring more early clinical researchers into the community, bridge the gap between drug discovery and clinical science, and expand ELRIG’s reach beyond the UK, building on recent events in central Europe and Boston.
He also reflects on what makes Drug Discovery special: the keynote sessions, the dedicated zones for early career professionals and start-ups, and the partnerships that ensure the scientific programme stays at the very highest standard.
