Reviewing event registrations, creating the right environment for scientific exchange.

Creating the right environment for scientific exchange

Why we are reviewing event registrations at ELRIG

At ELRIG, our mission has always been to provide free-to-attend, high-quality scientific events that bring together the life sciences community. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are proud to create opportunities for researchers, industry professionals, technology providers, academics and innovators to connect, learn and collaborate.

Over the years, our community has grown significantly. With increasing demand for our events, particularly our flagship conference Drug Discovery 2026, we have reached a point where careful management of registrations is essential to ensure we continue delivering the best possible experience for attendees.

Creating the Right Environment for Scientific Exchange

The success of an ELRIG event depends on bringing together a diverse mix of perspectives, expertise and experiences. When registrations exceed venue capacity, simply operating on a first-come, first-served basis does not always create the balanced audience that supports meaningful discussion, networking and collaboration.

To help achieve this, registrations are reviewed and managed to ensure representation from across the life sciences ecosystem.

When allocating places, we consider a number of factors, including:

  • The applicant’s sector and relevance to the event topic
  • Professional background, current role and career stage
  • Organisational and geographic diversity
  • Previous attendance and event participation history
As before, exhibitors will be allocated places for commercial delegates as part of their event package. Other commercial delegate registrants will be prioritised from organisations that are supporting the event, or who have supported ELRIG at some time in the previous 12 months’.

This approach helps us create an environment where attendees can gain maximum value from the scientific programme while making new and meaningful connections.

Supporting Accessibility and Inclusion

As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we may reserve places for early-career researchers, job-seekers and individuals from underrepresented groups within the life sciences community.

We believe that free access to scientific knowledge and networking opportunities should be available to as wide a community as possible. By actively managing attendance, we can help ensure our events remain welcoming, accessible and representative of the broader scientific landscape.

What This Means for Drug Discovery 2026

As we prepare for Drug Discovery 2026, we want to make attendees aware of our registration review process.

If you have already registered, or are planning to register, you will receive an automated response confirming that we have received your application. This message does not confirm your place at the event; rather, it lets you know that your registration is being reviewed.

Our team is committed to processing registrations as quickly as possible and providing a clear yes or no response. We appreciate your patience while we work through applications and will be in touch to confirm your place at the event as soon as we can.

Where demand exceeds capacity, some applicants may be placed on a waiting list or receive confirmation closer to the event date.

Thank You for Your Support

We understand that registration reviews represent a change from previous years. However, this approach reflects the growth of the ELRIG community and our commitment to ensuring our events continue to deliver value for all attendees.

By carefully curating delegate attendance, we can create the diverse, collaborative and engaging environment that has become synonymous with ELRIG events.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming the life sciences community to Drug Discovery 2026.
